The North West Foundations in Airway & Trauma Management course is a free one-day course to provide Foundation Year doctors with the practical skills and situational awareness to participate as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team managing the multiply-injured patient, or patient with airway distress. It should be of particular interest to Foundation doctors thinking about careers in Surgery, ENT, A+E and Anaesthetics.
The one-day course will be divided into an airway session and a trauma session. Each session will be led by a short, interactive introductory talk followed by small groupwork with hands-on case scenarios. The faculty will include Consultants in emergency medicine, anaesthetics, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and ENT.
