Continuing the success of the 2011/2012 course programme these international courses have been designed by the Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG.org) and run by Disaster Management Training to provide Ambulance Staff, Clinicians, Senior Nurses, volunteers and BASICS Doctors with the skills necessary to command positions within a declared Major incident.
2013 Dates: 6 April (1-‐day), 26-‐28 April (3-‐day), 25-‐26 May (2-‐day), 29-‐30 June (2-‐day), 19-‐21 July (3-‐day), 9-‐11 August (3-‐day), 12 October (1-‐day)
Advanced course: The comprehensive 3-‐day Advanced Course includes defining a major incident, command and control, understanding the roles of the health and emergency services, triage sieve and sort, treatment, transport, use of radio communications, medical equipment, table exercise and a practical exercise. Assessment: multiple choice paper, triage paper, radio procedures and moulage (triage sieve and sort).
2-‐day Courses: The 2-‐day course is designed as an overview of the principles of major incidents for staff in a responder command role. The components are similar to the 3-‐day course though you will be required to pre-‐learn much of the material.
Course fees: From £300.00 per candidate (advanced 2/3-‐day course). £120 per candidate (1-‐day).
Location: London Ambulance Service, Fulham Education Centre, 150 Seagrave Road, London, SW6 1RX. The nearest public transport link is the national rail and underground station at West Brompton or Fulham Broadway or Earls Court. Hotels are nearby. 1-‐day courses are held in Weymouth, Dorset.
